Zelenskyy isn’t guessing anymore — he is openly telling Moscow, Belarus, and the world that Ukraine knows exactly what Putin is trying to protect.
In this update, Greg breaks down Zelenskyy’s warning that Russia is pulling air defense systems toward Moscow, Valdai, and the Kerch Strait while Ukraine continues targeting the rear of Russia’s war machine. We also cover Russia’s growing fuel crisis, Ukraine’s strike campaign against Crimea’s bridges and logistics routes, Lukashenko’s dangerous Belarus message, and Marco Rubio’s admission that Alaska was never an agreement — only a proposal made without Ukraine at the table.
From Crimea to Belarus to Washington, the pressure around Putin’s war strategy is building — and Ukraine is making clear it is watching every move.

Kyiv is facing major upheaval after Fedorov’s removal, sweeping leadership changes, nationwide protests, and growing pressure on General Syrskyi.
Tonight, I separate the confirmed facts from the speculation and examine what President Zelenskyy’s decisions could mean for Ukraine’s government, military leadership, and war effort. We also cover the new defense and security appointments, the dangerous situation in Konstantinivka, warnings of intensified Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, and Crimea’s worsening electricity and fuel crisis.
Ukraine is fighting a brutal war against a much larger enemy—and these decisions could have serious consequences.

Ukraine’s deep-strike campaign is hitting Russia’s rear—and the Kremlin cannot keep its story straight.
In this update, Greg breaks down the Wildberries warehouse fires in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, TASS’s own reporting on the damage and casualties, Kyrylo Budanov’s endorsement of Mykhailo Drapatyi, and Vladimir Solovyov’s furious response.
We also examine the contradiction between Dmitry Peskov’s demand for Ukrainian capitulation and Sergey Lavrov’s discussion of a previous U.S.-Russia compromise as he prepares to meet Marco Rubio.
The bigger story: Ukraine’s military leadership is prioritizing long-range strikes, unmanned systems, technological superiority, and greater pressure on Russia’s logistics network.
Can Ukraine’s growing deep-strike capability force Moscow to negotiate seriously?

Russia is pounding Ukraine's energy infrastructure while serious questions emerge about missile warnings and new Starlink restrictions affecting Ukrainian military operations. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine's Air Force clarify what happened during the latest ballistic missile attacks: partner warnings were missing during the first wave, but information reached Ukrainian military officials during subsequent attacks.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian technology adviser Serhii Flash reports that SpaceX introduced new Starlink speed restrictions without warning, disrupting Ukrainian military missions. Poland's foreign minister publicly challenges Elon Musk over the reported restrictions, while reports of an arson attack on Starlink-related infrastructure in Bulgaria raise additional security concerns. These developments come as Ukraine continues defending its skies against Russian missiles and increasingly dangerous drones.
At the same time, the Kremlin launches an aggressive messaging offensive aimed at Washington. Kirill Dmitriev argues that sanctions against Russia hurt American farmers, Dmitry Peskov challenges the substance of Donald Trump's proposed energy ceasefire and accuses Europe of sabotaging peace efforts, and Russian officials demand the return of frozen assets. Moscow also accuses Ukraine of undermining an energy truce even as Russian forces continue attacking Ukraine's power infrastructure.
Greg Terry examines these contradictions, the Kremlin's efforts to influence American policy, the escalating challenges facing Ukraine's defense systems, and reports of Ukrainian strikes against Russian banking data centers. The central question remains: Is Washington confronting Russia's aggression, or allowing Moscow to shape the terms of the conversation?

Crimea is now facing a public fuel crisis — and Russia’s own officials are admitting it.
In this update, Greg Terry and Professor Gerdes break down five major developments that could reshape the war: fuel rationing in Sevastopol, Ukraine’s growing pressure on the so-called “road of death” to Crimea, renewed warnings around Belarus and Transnistria, Ukraine’s expanding long-range drone campaign, and the political fallout from the Lugansk strike.
We also discuss Rubio’s latest comments, the collapse of the so-called “Spirit of Anchorage,” the rise of the “Spirit of Beijing,” and why Russia may be slipping deeper into dependence on China.
This is not hopium. Russia is under growing military, economic, and geopolitical pressure — and Ukraine’s ability to strike deep is changing the battlefield.

Putin’s own words — and the Kremlin’s response today — make one thing clear: Russia is not preparing for peace. It is preparing for escalation.
In this update, Greg breaks down Peskov’s confirmation of Putin’s position, Zelenskyy’s warning that Putin has ordered Donetsk seized by December 31, and the larger Novorossiya objective that would cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea.
We also look at the brutal reality in Konstantinivka, the pressure on Ukraine’s fortress belt, Lukashenko’s sudden meetings with Putin and Xi Jinping, Belarusian threats after Zelenskyy’s warning, signs pointing toward Russian mobilization after September, and Marjorie Taylor Greene’s comments to Russian state media.
This is a serious moment for Ukraine, NATO, Europe, and the United States — because Moscow is saying out loud what it intends to do next.

A 22-foot golden statue of Donald Trump was dedicated at Trump National Doral, and Pastor Mark Burns — one of Trump’s spiritual advisors — publicly defended the event by saying, “This is not a golden calf.”
But is that really the issue?
As a Christian pastor, I believe this crosses a serious line. Scripture commands believers to honor leaders, but it does not command us to create golden images of rulers, gather clergy around them, dedicate them with religious language, or turn political loyalty into spiritual devotion.
In this episode, Professor Gerdes and I break down why this is not biblical honor — it is political idolatry dressed in religious vocabulary.
We discuss:
• The difference between honoring leaders and idolizing them
• Why golden images of political rulers are spiritually dangerous
• Pastor Mark Burns’ defense of the dedication
• The “God preserved Trump” argument after Butler
• Why true gratitude should lead to humility and worship of God alone
• The danger of pastors blessing political loyalty as Christian faithfulness
• Why American Christianity must confront this before it goes even further
This is not about left versus right. This is about whether the church still has the courage to say that worship belongs to God alone.
If God spares a man’s life, worship God — do not build a golden image of the man.

Russia launches devastating attacks on Ukraine, President Zelenskyy raises the alarm over missing ballistic missile warnings, and Washington faces urgent questions about U.S. intelligence sharing. President Trump says intelligence cooperation has not stopped—but the controversy exposes a much larger problem surrounding his proposed Russia–Ukraine energy ceasefire.
Ukraine reports deadly strikes in Kharkiv and Kyiv while Zelenskyy says Ukrainian forces have refrained from attacking Russian oil refineries and energy infrastructure for two days. Russia, meanwhile, continues its attacks. Trump insists the parties agreed to an energy ceasefire because he said they agreed, raising a fundamental question: Can there be a ceasefire when neither side has confirmed accepting one?
At the Warsaw Security Forum, Keith Kellogg delivers an extraordinary statement about targeting Russian oil refineries, while Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha warns that Ukraine's future—and Europe's security—depend on strength, realism, and enforceable international law. We also examine Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov's comments on U.S.–Russian energy cooperation and Trump's statements about Russian and Chinese assistance to Iran.
Today we separate the statements, disputed claims, and actual developments from the political chaos—and explain why the difference matters for Ukraine and the future of European security.

Russia continues striking civilian targets in Ukraine while Washington considers new measures that could ease economic pressure on Moscow. President Zelenskyy is drawing a hard line: Russia's war has not stopped, and sanctions should not be lifted. Meanwhile, reports involving frozen Russian assets, sanctioned shadow-fleet tankers, and Russian oil exports raise serious questions about the direction of American policy.
In today's update, Greg Terry examines the destruction of a grocery store in Ukraine's Odesa region, reported Ukrainian strikes against Russian Su-34 aircraft, and Zelenskyy's decision to resume attacks on Russian oil refineries. Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, and Sergey Lavrov accuse Ukraine of undermining peace efforts, even as Russia continues its military campaign. Greg challenges those claims and examines the growing confrontation over sanctions, energy, and negotiations.
The Financial Times reports on a U.S. proposal involving frozen Russian sovereign assets that European officials reportedly rejected. Separate reporting indicates the Trump administration is considering easing restrictions on certain shadow-fleet tankers. Meanwhile, Britain is reportedly increasing military assistance to Ukraine, including Storm Shadow missiles and air defenses. Greg also examines competing statements from British official Wes Streeting and Germany's Alice Weidel, along with the role of Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev.
Questions surrounding Starlink, Starshield, and Ukrainian military communications are also intensifying. Senator Thom Tillis is calling for an investigation, Representative Don Bacon is openly challenging Trump's position on Ukraine, and Elon Musk has again criticized Zelenskyy. With CNN reporting serious shortages of Patriot air-defense missiles, Ukraine faces difficult questions about its ability to protect civilians while continuing to strike Russian military and energy targets.

Over the last 24 hours, some extraordinary statements have come directly from Russian officials, propagandists, Vladimir Putin—and Donald Trump.
Putin-appointed Kherson governor Vladimir Saldo describes people in occupied Oleshky as optimistic and growing stronger despite severe conditions. Maria Zakharova blames Ukraine for the humanitarian disaster there while also warning that European weapons factories supplying Ukraine could become Russian military targets. Meanwhile, Russia is reportedly using specially designed drone warheads against Ukrainian power-transmission infrastructure.
Then Vladimir Putin insists Russia’s economy and financial system remain in a “confident position,” Vladimir Solovyov celebrates the potential power of a Russia-China alliance joined by North Korea and Belarus, and Donald Trump describes Kim Jong Un as his friend and says, “As long as I’m around he’s going to be fine.”
This episode puts those statements together, examines what is actually being claimed, and looks at the widening gap between rhetoric, battlefield realities, infrastructure attacks, and the geopolitical relationships now being presented to the public.

President Donald Trump has publicly suggested that Ukraine needs a new president, directly attacking Volodymyr Zelenskyy while Russia continues its war against Ukraine. At the same time, Trump is defending a major shift involving Russian diesel imports into the United States—and the Kremlin is welcoming his words.
In this urgent update, Greg Terry breaks down Trump's statements blaming Zelenskyy for the war, demanding that Ukraine stop striking Russian oil refineries, and suggesting that Ukraine should replace its leadership. We examine the Russian response, Zelenskyy's outreach to European allies, and the growing concern that Washington's energy policy could weaken pressure on Vladimir Putin.
We also examine reports of a Russian diesel shipment already approaching the United States, the timing of the shipment, and whether additional Russian fuel will meaningfully affect American diesel prices. Greg raises a critical strategic question: Could America's new interest in Russian refinery output change how Washington responds to Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia?
Finally, Ukraine's parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk delivers a forceful warning against easing economic pressure on Moscow. His message is clear: rewarding Russian aggression will not produce a just and lasting peace. This episode separates Trump's recorded statements, reported developments, and the serious questions they raise for Ukraine, Europe, and America's future policy.

Three major trends are shaping the Russia-Ukraine war right now: the fight over global diesel supplies, Russia’s determination to finance and man a long war, and an accelerating technology race that could determine what happens through the winter.
Greg Terry and Professor Gerdes challenge the claim that Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries are the main cause of the global diesel problem and examine the broader energy picture. They then turn to Russia’s expanding defense spending, continued manpower needs, pressure on occupied Ukrainians, and the signals suggesting the Kremlin is preparing for a prolonged conflict rather than winding one down.
The final—and potentially most important—trend is the technological race. Ukraine continues developing drones, robotics, interceptors, and new air-defense capabilities while Russia adapts its own Shahed attacks against energy and electrical infrastructure. With a difficult winter period approaching, the central question becomes whether Ukraine can scale its defenses fast enough while Western partners continue supplying systems such as NASAMS and Patriot.

Ukraine has launched a massive overnight drone attack against St. Petersburg, Russia, with reports of strikes on an oil terminal, a major bridge, electrical substations, and a VKontakte data center. Russian officials acknowledge the attack as airport operations are disrupted, fires are reported, and power outages spread across parts of the region.
In this breaking news report, Greg Terry examines the developing situation in St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad region. Governor Alexander Beglov has acknowledged the Ukrainian drone attack, reporting fires at infrastructure facilities and restrictions at Pulkovo Airport. Additional reports describe damage to the St. Petersburg oil terminal, disruptions to VKontakte's digital services, and electricity outages affecting parts of the region. The Vostochnaya 330 kV electrical substation is also identified among the reported targets.
Greg walks through the geography of the attack, including a strategic eight-lane bridge connecting parts of St. Petersburg, and presents newly circulating footage showing incoming drones, fires, mobile air defenses, and an apparent bridge strike. The full extent of the damage remains to be established as the situation continues to develop.
These are Ukraine's long-range sanctions reaching one of Russia's most important cities. What does this attack mean for Russia's energy infrastructure, transportation networks, and internal security? And how will the Kremlin and Washington respond? Greg examines the immediate reports and the potential political consequences of a significant escalation in Ukraine's long-range strike campaign.

Dmitry Medvedev says Russia can only be “saved” by defeating Ukraine. That is not the language of a confident Kremlin—and Sergei Lavrov’s latest warnings make Moscow’s growing pressure even harder to ignore.
This update breaks down Ukraine’s deep strikes on targets in Ryazan, Perm, and Russian logistics sites; President Zelenskyy’s urgent request for 300 Patriot interceptors before winter; the Senate’s 86–12 procedural vote targeting buyers of Russian oil; signs of possible Russian mobilization and additional North Korean manpower; and Lavrov’s escalating rhetoric toward Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and NATO.
Ukraine is increasing the cost of this war, but its air-defense clock is running fast. Watch to the end, then tell me: Is Russia projecting strength—or revealing fear?

Donald Trump has reportedly waived major provisions of Senator Lindsey Graham's Russia sanctions legislation, removing new economic pressure on Vladimir Putin just days before a critical implementation deadline. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded, and his warnings about sanctions, Ukraine's ability to defend itself, and new restrictions affecting Starlink raise serious questions about Washington's direction.
In this October 17 update, Greg Terry examines the reported sanctions waivers, including provisions targeting Russian energy, financial institutions, and countries purchasing Russian oil and gas. Zelenskyy explains why lifting pressure on Moscow will not stop Putin's war. He also reveals Ukrainian findings concerning Starlink speed restrictions that he says are disrupting frontline supply deliveries and drone interception capabilities. Ukrainian tests reportedly found different Starlink behavior inside the European Union, raising questions about who imposed the restrictions and why.
Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev then enters the picture with revealing statements about Russian-American economic cooperation, energy markets, and the Graham sanctions. Greg examines how Dmitriev's arguments align with the administration's stated economic interests and whether Moscow is succeeding in weakening Washington's relationship with Kyiv. Senator Tom Tillis also delivers a sharp bipartisan rebuke of the administration's sanctions decision.
The central question is no longer simply whether Washington wants peace. It is whether American policy is increasing pressure on the country that invaded Ukraine or weakening Ukraine's ability to resist that aggression.

Donald Trump says Vladimir Putin wants peace. But Putin's own words and military orders tell a very different story. In a striking contrast between Washington's messaging and Moscow's actions, Putin calls for continued massive strikes against Ukraine, praises Russia's battlefield operations, and makes clear that key Russian security demands will not be open to peace negotiations.
Tonight, Greg Terry puts Trump and Putin's statements side by side and lets you decide. We examine Trump's suggestion that he possesses undisclosed information about how Russia's war began, revisit his August 2025 remarks and promises concerning Putin and the Epstein files, and hear Putin's latest orders to Russia's military commanders. We also challenge Putin's territorial claims concerning Donetsk and Luhansk, including Greg's assessment that Ukraine still controls approximately 17–18% of Donetsk Oblast.
And there is another significant development. Kirill Dmitriev claims the U.S. Treasury Department specifically requested assistance from the Russian Direct Investment Fund in facilitating a diesel transaction. What does that reported cooperation mean for American sanctions policy and the wider relationship between Washington and Moscow?
The central question is unavoidable: When Trump tells the world that Putin wants to end the war, should we believe that assurance—or listen to what Putin is actually ordering his military to do?

Trump weakens pressure on Russia, Zelenskyy warns about Starlink restrictions, and Putin makes battlefield claims that don't match independent mapping. Meanwhile, Russia continues attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and the consequences of Washington's decisions are becoming increasingly serious.
Welcome to Season 1, Episode 1 of THE BIG PICTURE, a new weekly geopolitical discussion with Greg Terry and Professor Gerdes. We're connecting the week's biggest developments to examine how events in Ukraine, Russia, Washington, Europe, and the Middle East are influencing one another—and what they could mean for the week ahead.
We examine Trump's controversial Russia sanctions waiver, the deteriorating Trump–Zelenskyy relationship, reports surrounding Starlink restrictions and their impact on Ukrainian defense operations, and Putin's disputed claims about Russian territorial control. We also discuss devastating strikes on Ukraine's power infrastructure, Kirill Dmitriev's growing role in U.S.–Russia contacts, and Europe's resistance to transferring control of frozen Russian assets to Washington.
Beyond Ukraine, we turn to speculation about a possible G20 meeting involving Trump, Putin, and Zelenskyy, the continuing crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, Houthi activity in the Middle East, and the political pressures of America's approaching midterm elections. The central theme is unmistakable: these crises cannot be understood in isolation. Decisions in Washington, Moscow, Kyiv, and the Middle East have consequences that reach far beyond their borders.

President Zelenskyy just delivered a powerful response to Donald Trump's latest attacks—and he did it without saying a single word. But what followed at the European Council on October 16, 2026, exposed a much bigger confrontation over Vladimir Putin, Ukraine's survival, and the future of America's relationship with Europe.
Zelenskyy warns that Putin's ambitions extend far beyond eastern Ukraine, raising the possibility of 20 million Ukrainians being driven toward Europe if their country falls. He also delivers a remarkable message of gratitude to Americans who continue standing with Ukraine, even as Greg argues that Trump's rhetoric increasingly echoes the Kremlin. Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen rejects the idea of trusting Putin, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš says Europe has been let down, and Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski makes a pointed statement about who is actually financing Ukraine's defense.
Then comes an extraordinary response from Moscow. Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev describes Trump's criticism of Zelenskyy as a tactical move and discusses potential U.S.–Russia business projects, including energy and data centers. British billionaire Richard Branson also delivers a forceful warning about appeasing dictators, urging European leaders to consider transferring frozen Russian assets to Ukraine and supplying advanced weapons, including Germany's Taurus missiles.
The central question is no longer simply what Trump says about Zelenskyy. It is whether Europe will turn its increasingly blunt warnings into decisive action while Russia attempts to exploit the growing divisions between Washington and its allies.

A Ukrainian military communications expert is directly challenging Marco Rubio's claims about Starshield—and warning that restrictions on Starlink are undermining Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russian attacks. In a revealing BBC interview, Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov says Ukraine receives Starshield through a partner and explains how satellite communication limitations are affecting drone interceptors used against Russia's jet-powered Shahed drones.
Ukraine's Air Force also reports that American ballistic missile launch warnings failed to arrive during a Russian attack, forcing Ukrainian radar operators to detect the threat independently. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy describes disruptions to frontline equipment and warns that Washington appears to be pressuring Ukraine toward surrender. Meanwhile, Rubio disputes reports of interrupted U.S. intelligence sharing and defends the Trump administration's 60-day delay in implementing new sanctions against Russia. We examine these conflicting accounts, Rubio's own statements, and the consequences for Ukraine's defense.
The geopolitical picture grows even more troubling as Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha warns against proposed talks involving Trump, Putin, and Xi Jinping without meaningful progress toward peace. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov joins Iran's Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, where their statements reveal the continuing relationship between Moscow and Tehran. We examine their claims, the implications for American foreign policy, and the growing international consequences of Russia's war.
Finally, two Ukrainian polls challenge narratives about President Zelenskyy's political standing and the Ukrainian people's confidence in victory. Despite years of invasion, destruction, and international uncertainty, a substantial majority of Ukrainians surveyed still believe their country will ultimately win. The evidence, the contradictions, and the decisions coming from Washington deserve serious scrutiny.

TUPAC TRIAL LIVE: Watch Day 7 of the trial of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who is accused of orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur, live from Las Vegas court. Davis is charged with murder with the use of a deadly weapon with intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang.
The trial is expected to last about a month. Prosecutors accuse Davis of ordering the fatal shooting as retaliation for a brawl that broke out on a casino floor shortly before Shakur was killed. Authorities have also pointed to comments Davis made in several media interviews as evidence of his alleged involvement in the killing.
Among the 200 potential witnesses in the case are some notable names, including:
Marion "Suge" Knight - Former Death Row Records CEO who was in the car when Shakur was shot
Former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, who served in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at the time of the murder
Former LAPD Detective Greg Kading, who claims Davis confessed to his involvement during a 2009 interview with law enforcement
Yusef Jah, the ghostwriter for Davis in his memoir
Several of Shakur’s family members
