Team Trump Praises Putin, Pressures Zelenskyy—Americans Side With Ukraine

Thank You for Standing With Ukraine

Ukraine’s returning prisoners are bringing home accounts of torture, while the latest Starlink crisis has exposed how quickly a vital connection can become uncertain. In this week’s Big Picture, Greg Terry and Professor Gerdes examine the prisoner exchange, Ukraine’s search for alternatives to Starlink, and the growing strain between Kyiv and Washington.

They also argue that Trump’s pressure has weakened his leverage with Zelenskyy while Putin works to elevate his own standing. The conversation moves from Ukrainian strikes disrupting Russian infrastructure to polling that, as presented in the video, shows broad U.S. support for Ukraine. With the U.S. midterms approaching and renewed U.S.-Israeli action against Iran a possibility raised at the end, what could shift next?
