UKRAINE HAD A FANTASTIC NIGHT!
I examine Ukraine’s reported overnight drone and missile strikes, including the destruction of two Su-34 fighter-bombers at Marinovka airfield with Neptune missiles, an Iskander-M launcher reportedly struck during reloading in Kursk, and a Su-57 that burned during an engine-start sequence. These losses matter because Su-34s are central to Russia’s use of KAB guided bombs against frontline positions and civilian infrastructure.
I also assess the Novokuybyshevsk refinery fire, the reported strike on a TOR-M2 radar and electronic-warfare target, and airport disruptions that canceled or delayed 350 Russian flights. On the battlefield, Ukraine reported more than 50,000 Russian casualties in October, while Russia continued missile and drone attacks that killed civilians, including people at a Dnipro commuter train station. The strategic question is whether cumulative losses in aircraft, launchers, logistics, and personnel are forcing Moscow to move key assets farther from the war.
