Today, the most intense news is coming from the Liman direction.

Russians just unleashed a massive swarm of fixed-wing attack drones in an attempt to halt the Ukrainian advance in its tracks. Video footage shows how Russians launched waves of Molniya drones across the river and into the newly gained Ukrainian territory. These Russian Molniya drones are equipped with heavy explosives and sometimes even anti-tank landmines that cause major destruction when they hit. The dedicated interceptor drone unit codenamed Destroyer shared footage showing the interception of over sixty-six of these enemy strike drones over the ongoing Ukrainian Vivaldi operation in a single day. The Ukrainians have fully integrated interception capabilities into their frontline units, with the Destroyer unit integrated with the Ukrainian sixty-sixth Mechanized Brigade using dispersed radar systems to launch an interceptor drone within a minute of detecting an enemy UAV. Using various interceptor drones of similar design, they are then able to neutralize the Russian waves with remarkable efficiency.

When looking at the situation on the ground, Ukrainians are advancing way faster than the Russians expected, and liberating far more territory than they had imagined. This even caused problems for Ukrainians however, who were advancing so deep that they threatened to move out of the cover of their fire-support units. The entire Ukrainian kill-chain of observation and strike drones, artillery, logistics, and command staff now has to be moved to the new line of contact. By launching the intense Molniya drone barrage, Russians were attempting to strike Ukrainians in the midst of this movement, hoping to prevent and undermine Ukrainians from getting ready to cross the river next. However, they were not expecting Ukraine to have already moved forward their frontline drone interception units, and their barrage was taken out in mid-air.

Notably, Russians were trying to do more than just strike Ukrainian support units on the move, but were preparing to follow up with a major counteroffensive of their own. As Russians cannot afford to lose their bridgehead across the Zherebets River completely, they are desperately trying to take it back. The massive wave of frontline strike drones was the fire preparation that Russians could have needed for a counterattack to succeed. Counterattacking while Ukrainians are still reorganizing would be their only real chance of making any rapid clawback.

The reason why Russians cannot lose the bridgehead is that it allows Ukrainians to maintain a much more stable defense of Liman itself. Due to the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Russians are now over twenty-two kilometers removed from the nearest logistical strongpoint supplying Liman. This puts Ukrainian logistic hubs out of range of Russian tube and rocket artillery, as well as Russian FPV drones. While Russian FPV drones have the capability on paper to strike this deep, using FPV drones at such long ranges requires larger fixed-wing drones to serve as relays. And Ukrainians have just clearly demonstrated their capability to rapidly detect and destroy these fixed-wing type drones with ease, allowing supplies and reinforcements to arrive at the needed positions with no delay.

Overall, Ukrainians just destroyed the most massive Russian fire preparation launched in a single day. While Russians attempted to strike Ukrainian support units and staff while on the move and take advantage of their destruction with a follow-up counterattack, the cleverly integrated drone defenses were able to neutralize the Russian threat. As the Ukrainian kill-chain is being moved up to the new line of contact, Russian forces will soon be faced with a deadly choice: either throw their men into the Ukrainian meatgrinder, or suffer whatever the Ukrainian general staff has planned for them next.

These would cause absolute chaos

Check out our truck campaign with Car4Ukraine here: https://car4ukraine.com/campai....gns/preston-stewart-

So now we’ve got Ukrainian robots being dropped off behind the front lines, firing rockets into where the Russians are hiding, then, once they’re suppressed, driving in and blowing up. That’s a bad day and a pretty wild new use of drones in the Ukraine war.

We’re seeing new tactics and techniques like this on a daily basis from Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps as they continue pushing in the east during Operation Vivaldi. In fact, today we have the Russian perspective on how their mistakes led to this Ukrainian advance and how the chaos is spreading to other sectors of the front.

USS Theodore Roosevelt, America’s Big Stick, is heading toward the Middle East as Iranian shipping attacks continue and more LNG cargoes move through the Strait of Hormuz. Former F-15E combat pilot and Thunderbird pilot Max Afterburner breaks down the reported possibility of a three-carrier overlap, the role of carrier aviation, and why surveillance and coordination matter as much as firepower. We separate deployment reporting from confirmed combat actions and explain what rising cargo departures do—and do not—tell us about Iran’s control of Hormuz. Global Round Up covers Taiwan’s new F-16V Block 70 deliveries, Ukraine’s claimed FP-7 combat debut, and the Pentagon’s proposed expansion of autonomous Lightfish surveillance boats.

All Russian targets are vulnerable

Learn more about our truck fundraiser here: https://car4ukraine.com/en-US/....campaigns/preston-st

Ukraine just carried out significant strikes in the St. Petersburg area on the opening day of the International Economic Forum. An oil refinery was hit, giving quite the show to the guests traveling in from around the world and then a corvette was struck in the same area. These targets are 1,000 km inside of Russian territory and their getting hit highlights the challenge that Russia is experiencing in defending all of their territory from Ukrainian drones.

Today, a video released by a Russian truck driver shows how Ukraine's campaign to isolate Crimea entered a significantly more aggressive phase. Russian military columns can no longer move to or from the peninsula without facing constant danger, and the images from the R-Two-hundred-eighty highway show multiple Russian military vehicles burning within only a hundred meters of each other. Thick columns of smoke rise from destroyed trucks scattered along the road, illustrating not an isolated strike but a sustained effort against the peninsula's main supply artery. Stretching from Rostov-on-Don through Russian-controlled southern Ukraine, the highway was supposed to carry fuel, ammunition, equipment, and personnel into Crimea. Without physically controlling the route, Ukrainian forces are imposing persistent fire control over key sections using drones, as every destroyed fuel tanker removes critical supplies, blocks traffic, and delays following convoys.

Another video released by Ukraine's Fifty-Ninth Unmanned Systems Brigade further illustrates this approach, showing drones hunting military logistics targets at distances of up to two hundred kilometers while deliberately bypassing civilian traffic. After Russia began disguising military cargo as ordinary freight vehicles, Ukrainian commanders responded by declaring every truck traveling these supply routes a legitimate military target, significantly expanding the pressure on Russian logistics.

The growing scale of these operations indicates that Ukraine has entered the second stage of its broader effort to isolate Crimea completely, as Ukrainian drones maintain constant surveillance, detecting convoys before directing precision strikes against them. As a result, the main Russian routes through Chonhar, Henichesk, Armyansk, and the Kerch bridge have become increasingly hazardous for Russian military movement. Temporary engineering solutions such as pontoon crossings have likewise become frequent targets, while maritime supply routes remain under simultaneous pressure. This means Russia is finding it progressively harder to rotate troops, transport ammunition, move fuel, or reinforce Crimea on predictable schedules. As a result, Ukraine is making reliable logistics so dangerous that the practical effect is a total blockade.

Events from previous days reinforce the steadily tightening logistical isolation of Crimea, with newly released footage from Ukraine's drone regiments demonstrating how carefully these operations are planned. Before striking transport vehicles, operators first identify and eliminate Russian electronic warfare systems positioned on other vehicles to shield convoys from drone attacks. Once they are destroyed, strike drones like Hornet methodically move through the remaining columns, hitting trucks one after another until burning wreckages block the highways entirely. Russian mobile fire groups escorting the convoys are targeted as well, ensuring surviving trucks remain exposed to subsequent attacks.

Russian footage also confirms the effectiveness of these tactics, as a Russian truck driver recorded several cargo vehicles already engulfed in flames along the Mariupol-Berdiansk highway, their burning hulks preventing traffic from moving in either direction. Another Russian video captures an even more dramatic sequence as a driver passes multiple destroyed trucks before spotting a Ukrainian FPV drone rapidly approaching his own vehicle. Seconds later, the drone strikes, forcing him to abandon the crippled truck while complaining that his mission to deliver supplies to Russian bases can no longer continue. These Russian eyewitness recordings demonstrate how Ukrainian operators are not merely destroying individual vehicles but systematically transforming entire logistics routes into continuous kill zones.

Overall, the cumulative effect extends far beyond the immediate destruction visible in each video, as every successful strike removes transport capacity and forces Russian commanders to devote additional vehicles and personnel simply to protect future convoys. Roads blocked for hours by burning trucks generate long traffic jams, creating even larger concentrations of targets for follow-up drone attacks. By steadily severing reliable road, rail, fuel, and reinforcement flow from mainland Russia, Ukrainian forces are gradually transforming the peninsula into an isolated military pocket, choking Russian bases through relentless logistical attrition, and making every journey to or from them more dangerous, more expensive, and ultimately increasingly unsustainable.

In this video, we will analyze Russia’s recent mechanized assault on Sloviansk.

Here, Russian forces launched one of their largest mechanized assaults in months in an attempt to force movement on the Sloviansk axis. What followed left burning vehicles scattered across the battlefield and turned this attack into one of the clearest examples of how much was at stake in this push.

Russia’s goal here was to break through the Ukrainian forward positions covering the northeastern approaches to Sloviansk, especially in the Zakitne and Kryva Luka direction. These settlements matter because they form part of the outer defensive area shielding Sloviansk, so losing them would weaken the defense and open more favorable routes toward positions farther back. That is why Russia launched a larger mechanized assault here rather than relying solely on smaller infantry probes, as it was trying to force a breakthrough through the outer layer of the defense in a single push.

Russia tried to do that by sending two assault groups forward at the same time on separate routes, one toward Zakitne and the other toward Kryva Luka, in order to pressure the Ukrainian defense from multiple directions. This gave the attack a better chance of splitting Ukrainian attention and stretching drone coverage, preventing the defenders from focusing all their fire on one approach.

This attack plan was meant to give the Russians several advantages during the advance. Russians also committed motorcycles to reduce dependence on roads and tight formations, allowing the Russians to cross exposed ground faster without bunching into an easy target. The Russians also sent several tanks and BMP to their assault, meant to suppress Ukrainian positions and absorb fire while lighter elements pushed forward. In theory, that made the assault more resilient than a single dense column, because even if one vehicle was hit, other elements could still keep moving, giving the Russians a better chance of achieving their goal.

However, the main weakness of this Russian assault was that both groups still had to cross exposed approach routes into a defended sector. That allowed Ukrainian defenders to track the advancing elements early, slow them on the route in, and then strike vehicles and isolated groups as the assault began to break apart. Instead of arriving as one concentrated force, the Russian assault was reduced to smaller fragments that could be destroyed separately.

The footage shows exactly how that breakdown happened in practice, as Russian motorcycles, transport vehicles, and BMP move along roads and tree lines, but instead of building into one continuous assault, those elements appear increasingly separated as they come under fire. FPV drones strike BMP and other vehicles while they are still moving, catching them before they can reach cover or support the rest of the advance. In several moments, the assault appears to lose tempo completely, with individual vehicles destroyed on the route while other elements are forced to keep moving past wrecks or stop in exposed positions. Abandoned motorcycles and vehicles were hit after parts of the assault had already stalled, suggesting a loss of momentum before the attackers ever reached the line. By the time burning wrecks begin to accumulate along the approach, the footage shows that the real battle was no longer at the point of breakthrough, because Ukrainian defenses had already turned the route into a kill zone and broken the assault apart in motion.

Overall, the failed Russian assault shows that the Russian command is still trying to break the approaches to Sloviansk through larger mechanized attacks rather than relying only on small infantry group infiltrations. At the same time, Ukraine has shown that it still has the reconnaissance and strike coordination needed to respond to large-scale assaults in this sector. That means Russia may continue launching attacks of this kind, but each failure will make this method harder to sustain. If these assaults keep failing after detection, Russia will likely shift toward smaller and less visible attacks, because once Ukrainian reconnaissance spots a larger mechanized force, Ukraine can hit it quickly before it achieves anything meaningful.

Over the past 24 hours, tensions between the United States and Iran have spiked even higher after Iran's leaders stated their strict conditions for opening up shipping lanes, while U.S. embassies across the Middle East issued emergency travel warnings for Americans due to the high risk of sudden military escalation. President Trump and his team will make critical decisions during upcoming high-level diplomatic meetings, which will likely lead to either a massive new wave of American military pressure or a dramatic final showdown over the region's vital oil routes.
