Public sympathy for Lindsay Clancy reflects a broader culture that searches for explanations when women commit horrific acts while increasingly treating men as presumptively guilty or disposable.

He contends that these attitudes—combined with years of attacks on masculinity and unequal expectations in relationships and institutions—are helping convince a generation of young men to withdraw from dating, marriage, and family life, argues Victor Davis Hanson on tomorrow’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words”

Victor Davis Hanson also argues that Democrats increasingly embraced policies once associated with the socialist left, only to watch candidates distance themselves from the socialist label when competing beyond safely Democratic constituencies.

He contrasts that political repositioning with Donald Trump’s unapologetic style, arguing that voters may dislike what Trump says but rarely have to wonder whether he actually means it.

Putin’s Corporate Hostages: Why Russia Is Taking Oligarchs’ Firms and Western Businesses

I examine how Putin plans to finance a proposed 17.1 trillion-ruble military budget for 2027—an increase of roughly 27%—while Russia faces a projected 7.3 trillion-ruble deficit, rising taxes, costly borrowing, and treasury yields reaching 16.88%. With military and security spending set to account for 44% of projected spending, the Kremlin is shifting the burden onto households, businesses, and seized property.

I trace the coercive model through the cases of Konstantin Strukov’s gold assets, Vadim Moshkovich and Rusagro, Ilya Traber’s port interests, and the takeover of Makfa. I also look at the temporary management of Metro AG, Nestlé, Auchan, and former Leroy Merlin operations; the 471 billion rubles in supposedly voluntary billionaire contributions; and plans to sell confiscated assets. The strategic question is whether confiscation, debt, and pressure on private capital can sustain Putin’s war—or further hollow out Russia’s economy.

History’s Greatest Mysteries

Chaos continues across the Russian front

Our fall campaign is going strong! Check it out at the link here to learn more: https://car4ukraine.com/campai....gns/preston-stewart-

Phase three of Operation Vivaldi is complete as Ukraine continues to advance during their counteroffensive in the east. The Third Army Corps has released footage saying they captured 250 Russian soldiers, the largest number in a single operation since the Kursk incursion two years ago.

Meanwhile, Russian sources are getting fed up with the false reports on their side and the problems that’s causing at the front. With some complaining that “there's no communication, no logistics, no drones to deliver even basic supplies like food and water to the positions.”

“ Had the roles been reversed, the whole Black community would be up in arms.

“They would say it was murder. But what I'm getting at is that America is so over that now.

“After the ‘hands up, don’t shoot’ Michael Brown case—That was a complete lie. The Jussie Smollett case about MAGA people, that was a complete lie. The Duke lacrosse psychodrama, that was a complete lie. The Tawana Brawley rape hoax, that was a complete lie, argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”

In this Friday news roundup, Victor Davis Hanson and co-host Sami Winc discuss the Karmelo Anthony murder conviction and reactions to it, arguing the facts were clear and contrasting it with past high-profile race narratives they call false.

They also cover violent incidents involving immigrants, including an attempted beheading in Belfast, and claim public anger in the UK and U.S. is growing due to immigration, crime, and what they describe as a two-tier justice system and collapsing “critical legal theory” frameworks.

Hanson criticizes prominent figures such as Cardi B and Jasmine Crockett for their comments, contends racial favoritism and DEI policies have fueled resentment, and says universities worsened racial relations.

The episode also turns to California politics, alleging legalized vote-harvesting and lax election rules in Los Angeles races, and concludes with commentary on Democrat Senate candidate Graham Plattner and praise for renovations to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Thank You for Standing With Ukraine
https://ukrainesupportbridge.com/

Donald Trump has reportedly waived major provisions of Senator Lindsey Graham's Russia sanctions legislation, removing new economic pressure on Vladimir Putin just days before a critical implementation deadline. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded, and his warnings about sanctions, Ukraine's ability to defend itself, and new restrictions affecting Starlink raise serious questions about Washington's direction.

In this October 17 update, Greg Terry examines the reported sanctions waivers, including provisions targeting Russian energy, financial institutions, and countries purchasing Russian oil and gas. Zelenskyy explains why lifting pressure on Moscow will not stop Putin's war. He also reveals Ukrainian findings concerning Starlink speed restrictions that he says are disrupting frontline supply deliveries and drone interception capabilities. Ukrainian tests reportedly found different Starlink behavior inside the European Union, raising questions about who imposed the restrictions and why.

Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev then enters the picture with revealing statements about Russian-American economic cooperation, energy markets, and the Graham sanctions. Greg examines how Dmitriev's arguments align with the administration's stated economic interests and whether Moscow is succeeding in weakening Washington's relationship with Kyiv. Senator Tom Tillis also delivers a sharp bipartisan rebuke of the administration's sanctions decision.

The central question is no longer simply whether Washington wants peace. It is whether American policy is increasing pressure on the country that invaded Ukraine or weakening Ukraine's ability to resist that aggression.
