The strategic situation in the Middle East has completely changed. Iran has lost its main advantage: controlling the Strait of Hormuz. For years, the IRGC threatened to block oil traffic to pressure other countries.

Today, Washington removed that weapon by taking control of alternative energy supplies. Donald Trump just signed a massive oil agreement in Venezuela, giving the U.S. control over 65 billion barrels of crude. Now, Tehran can no longer threaten global energy markets.

At the same time, talks between Washington and Tehran are dead. This standoff comes as Iran faces a total energy breakdown. Daily gas shortages of 15 million liters, power blackouts, and empty stations have shut down cities like Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz. While President Masoud Pezeshkian's government wants to raise fuel prices, IRGC hardliners refuse to share military fuel stocks. This is creating massive anger among the Iranian People.

Tanks are still useful on the modern battlefield. I know that’ll get some folks fired up but look, when you talk to the people actually fighting the war, they want more tanks. That should be a pretty good sign.
But also, we’re not seeing tanks scrapped, but rather technical and tactical adaptations emerge to keep them in the fight, at least for now.

This isn't just a Saudi Arabia problem

So the Houthis just shot down a Saudi F-15 over northern Yemen, which is a bit of a problem. See the Houthis are on a tear right now. They’re digging in and solidifying their gains around the Bab-al-Mandeb strait, the Saudi backed Yemeni forces all but faded away, and Saudi Arabia’s partners, like the US, are showing no interest in getting involved.
I can hear the argument that this sounds like a Saudi Arabia problem and to a degree it certainly is. Bigger picture though is the direct effect this has on the global energy markets and international shipping.

پاکستان یک کشور اسلامیه که جامعه‌ای سنتی و تا حد زیادی محافظه‌کار داره؛ کشوری که در بعضی مناطق، طالبان پاکستان مانع تحصیل دختران شده و زنان و دختران با محدودیت‌ها و مشکلات اجتماعی زیادی روبه‌رو هستن. در کنار همه این‌ها، داستان افراد ترنسجندر، فقر، مهاجرت، فریلنسری، تولید اسلحه و مسیر قاچاق مواد مخدر هم بخش‌هایی از چهره کمتر دیده‌شده این کشور رو تشکیل می‌دن.

At the same time, the stories of transgender people, poverty, migration, freelancing, weapons production, and drug trafficking reveal some of the lesser-known sides of this country.

But Pakistan is not only about problems and hardship. It is also home to incredible natural landscapes such as K2 and Hunza Valley, famous and flavorful food, a strong culture of hospitality, and cities like Sialkot, which produces a large share of the world’s hand-stitched footballs. Emergency crews are on scene of a reported helicopter crash in Chatsworth.

According to the LA Fire Department, a pedestrian on the street was killed in the crash. It's unclear how many people were in the helicopter or who the helicopter belonged to.

Officials with LAFD said the crash appeared to involve a "news helicopter."
